Dan Campbell has brought in a new wave of coaching in the NFL and people are excited about it. The Detroit Lions HC is just in his second year in charge of the team. However, he has made some large-scale changes to the team and brought amazing candor and brutal truth when talking about weaknesses and strengths.
Campbell gained a substantial amount of audience for himself when he was featured on Hard Knocks this season. His attitude and personality won fans over and everyone rooted for the Lions to go a long way this season. However, it hasn’t turned out for them that way.
The Lions sit 2nd in their division currently and will be rooting for a wild card finish in the playoffs due to hefty competition in the conference. Nonetheless, their game against the Panthers displayed something else entirely, or maybe the Panthers were too good themselves.
There haven’t been many coaches who blatantly praise the opposition coach with truth and brutal honesty. Campbell did just that when he praised the Carolina Panthers HC Steve Wilks for overrunning the Lions by a couple of hundred yards.
“That was an absolute a** kicking,” Campbell told Wilks after losing to them 37-23. “That’s a f***ing great job!” The Lions were the second-best team throughout the game and didn’t even stand a chance against the Panthers, who looked deadly.

Dan Campbell finds himself in a deadly playoffs competition in the NFC conference

Campbell will probably have to win the two remaining games for a shot at playoffs as the NFC has just gotten heated at the end of the regular season. The Lions have a 7-8 record currently and with them there are three other teams with the same record.
The Bucs, the Seahawks, and the Packers all have the same 7-8 record as the Lions with just 2 games left this season. With just 4 wild-card spots available, some of the above-mentioned will have to cut their season sort if they are not up to mark.
The Packers are currently on a 2 game-winning streak and looking deadly on their offense and the Bucs are division leaders. The Lions will go up against the Bears and the Packers to wind up their season.
Dan Campbell will have to fill his team with energy and produce something extraordinary if they wish to qualify for the playoffs in the NFL this season.
