The Carolina Panthers currently have the chance of a lifetime to immediately turn their fortunes around and become a playoff-challenging side. The Carolina-based team had an abysmal record the previous season, ending the regular season with a losing record of 7-10.
They even failed to qualify for the playoffs as the Bucs had a much better record. However, things have changed this season and the Bucs won’t be a pain in their back as Tom Brady has announced his retirement.
The other teams in their division also lack some quality, and this is the chance for the Panthers to jump at the opportunity and dominate their division.
Former QB Dan Orlovsky spoke about this in-depth on ESPN live and stated how the Panthers can achieve this. According to Orlovsky, the Panthers have a great all-around roster that can seriously challenge for the playoffs. The only thing that the team needs currently is a top-tier QB that can help lead the team’s significantly talented offense.
“It’s time to make the move. … You can own the division for the next 10 years,” Dan Orlovsky stated on ‘NFL on ESPN’. The Panthers will be searching avidly for a top-tier QB in the offseason and there are many options around them.
The Carolina Panthers have multiple options to choose from
The Panthers need a top-tier QB or a QB with great experience and skill. Luckily, many experienced QBs are about to hit free agency and the Carolina-based team can choose their pick.
Jimmy Garoppolo and Carson Wentz are two veteran QBs who can easily slide into the Panthers’ offense without any difficulty. Jimmy G has been ousted by the 49ers after an exceptional latter-half performance by 49ers QB Brock Purdy.
On the other hand, QB Carson Wentz was recently released by the Commanders and will be looking for a new team. The Panthers HC and Wentz have known each other since their Eagles’ days and have also worked together at the Colts.
However, the most interesting option for the Panthers is the NFL draft prospect, QB Bryce Young. Young is slated to be the No.1 draft pick in this year’s edition of the draft and there will be many teams fighting for him.
If the Panthers can get the signature of the young QB, then they will be set for many years to come and Bryce can even help turn around their fortunes, just like Brady did for the Patriots.
