In some surprising turn of events, the Buffalo Bills stunned everyone by beating the tournament’s favorites, the Miami Dolphins, by a mammoth margin of 48-20. It was a stunning performance led by none other than their QB Josh Allen, who nearly outplayed Tua Tagovailoa, the Dolphins signal-caller. He had a perfect quarterback rating.
Right after the game, the analysts are considering Allen as the MVP (most-valuable-player award) contender. The people who were earlier voting for Tagovailoa, are now also keeping an eye on Allen after seeing his heroism on the ground. Dan Orlovsky is one of them. Seeing the gigantic performance on the field, the analyst in one of the episodes of First Take, said that he deserves to be the MVP winner.
“Josh Allen MVP winner?,” his fellow panelist asked. Answering the question, Orlovsky said, “After yesterday, yes. Because he went head-to-head with Tua and completely outplayed him. When he plays like the way he did this goes anywhere. Being honest, he is the best player in the past few weeks in football. He is the best player.”
Elaborating on his reasoning, “What you saw was toeing the line of aggression and recklessness. And I even take it a step further. I think the best game he can endorse the 49ers had since Blaine Gabbert left. And that’s a pretty huge conversation.”
Further, the analyst noted, “The way that they were ready for the pressure from Vic Fangio, phenomenal. The way that Josh got empty in the motion, phenomenal. This quarterback has become the number one pre-action pass quarterback in the NFL. Yesterday, when they were under center, he was 9-for-11 with 206 yards and three touchdowns.”
Looks like Orlovsky is already sold out on Allen as the 2023 MVP. However, it’s just week 4, and throwing such claims already wont serve the purpose to anyone except the TV ratings.
Josh Allen’s performance this season so far has been on the rise
There is hardly any doubt that Allen provided a masterclass against the Dolphins. He has been consistent throughout the season. His statistics indicate that the man is on a mission.
In four games, Allen covered 1,048 yards of passing. He had nine touchdowns. The only problem that can concern him is the number of interceptions that he has. He was intercepted four times already.
However, it seems that the QB is working on it. His best game came against the Dolphins where he covered 320 yards with four touchdowns and zero interceptions.
There is still a lot to go in this league. If Allen continues this form then he has every possibility to end the league with an MVP award.
