The Carolina Panthers selected QB Bryce Young first overall in this year’s draft. Young won the Heisman trophy in 2021 as college football’s best player. His first two NFL games were against the New York-based teams, the Jets and the Giants. Young did not have a wow performance in any of those games as the Panthers lost them both.

Yesterday, however, the Panthers played the Detroit Lions in their final preseason game. Although they lost that game, Young had a significantly better outing against the Lions. Former NFL quarterback and current NFL analyst, Dan Orlovsky was impressed with the young QB’s performance.

Orlovsky posted a video on his Twitter account analyzing the rookie QB’s first touchdown pass from the game. The caption read, “To be doing this as much and as well as Bryce Young is right now is beyond impressive.” He suggested that the Panthers ‘got the right one’ at quarterback.

This was Young’s first touchdown pass of the season. He completed 7 of his 12 pass attempts for 73 yards and one touchdown. The Panthers will hope that Young gains confidence from his performance against the Lions and carries that into the season. They play their first game of the season against the Atlanta Falcons on September 10.

After a couple of tough games against the New York Jets and the New York Giants, Bryce Young, quarterback of the Carolina Panthers, had a good game against the Detroit Lions in their final preseason game. Young went for 7-12 for 73 yards and one TD. Head coach Frank Reich said the QB looked sharp as he had a little scramble play in yesterday’s game.

Young, after the game, told the media that he is ready for the season opener. “That comes because of my coaches and teammates just giving me the confidence and pushing me really throughout practice,” Young said in the press conference. “That prepares you a lot, and having these games under my belt, it’s great to be able to take that and translate to playing against others.”

Young will hope to have a great rookie season with the Panthers. The Panthers are touted to be a dark horse playoffs team this season and Young has to be great for that to happen. They begin their season against the Atlanta Falcons on September 10.
