This NFL season, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end has achieved a lot more than, just on the field. With his highly-publicized relationship with one of the biggest artists in the world, Taylor Swift has brought him a huge chunk of endorsements as well as merchandise sales.

Given that, Travis Kelce recently made headlines for his endorsement deal with a major pharmaceutical company, Pfizer. However, not everyone seemed to have supported the tight end’s decision to endorse Pfizer’s COVID vaccine.

In a recent appearance on the Full Send Podcast, UFC president Dana White was asked for his opinion on the commercials of the COVID vaccine and Kelce promoting it:

I don’t know him. I don’t know anything about him, other than he’s a good football player. He’s getting a lot of attention right now.

The CEO of UFC believes the Pfizer COVID vaccine that Kelce has been promoting is nothing but garbage. Unless he is a believer that those vaccines actually work, there’s no sense endorsing them. White continued:

I don’t know why, unless he’s a believer, why would you promote that garbage? I don’t know why?

Considering White’s bold opinion on the vaccines, it’s quite clear that the UFC President does not consider them essential or that anyone would need them at this time. However, he also acknowledged that there are people who still wear a mask when they step outside, in a mocking sense. He said:

People are still wearing masks. You're basically telling everybody, 'Hey, I'm nuts. Check me out. I'm f**king crazy.'

Why does Travis Kelce endorse the Pfizer COVID vaccine?

While Kelce’s been promoting the Pfizer vaccine, the tight end has gotten a new nickname Mr. Pfizer” given by the NFL legend Aaron Rodgers himself. In his appearance on The Pat McAfee show in early October, Rodgers mocked Kelce’s recent promotion of flu and COVID vaccines, by calling him that.

Later on, when they asked why the tight end signed with the company by the reporters, Kelce replied, “I thought it was pretty good.”

He acknowledged Rodgers’ remark and added:

With this mustache right now I look like a guy named Mr. Pfizer. Who knew I'd get into the vax wars with Aaron Rodgers, man? Mr. Pfizer vs. the Johnson and Johnson family over there.

Kelce explained the reason why he has been endorsing the Pfizer vaccine is because he wants himself, his family, and all those around him safe. He asserted:

I stand by it 1000%. Fully comfortable with him calling me Mr. Pfizer.

Based on Kelce’s comments, it’s quite clear that the tight end firmly believes in the vaccine and he himself has gotten one.
