Davante Adams is a name to reckon with in the world of the NFL. After leaving the Packers ahead of the season, the star WR reunited with his old college quarterback, Derek Carr, and seems to be extremely enthusiastic about playing with him.

From saying that Carr and Rodgers are on the same level and claiming that Carr has better arm talent, Adams has done a lot to uphold and defend his quarterback. However, his most recent comments indicate that he might be overdoing it a bit.

Not long ago, Davante spoke to CBS Sports at the Raiders training camp. He was asked about the transition from Rodgers to Carr and his response was rather shocking. “Anytime you change quarterbacks from hall-of-Famer to Hall-of-Famer, you go Stabler to Rich Gannon or whoever, it’s going to be a little bit of an adjustment.”

Both are great players and great to be around, I’m enjoying the process and getting better myself trying to do as much as I can to help these guys go out there and win games,” Adams had stated which, as expected, ended up attracting a lot of angry reactions from fans on Twitter.

Most recently, Davante issued a clarification on his comments. He claimed, “what I meant to say was even if you go Hall of Famer to Hall of Famer it’s an adjustment. Even if it is a Hall of Famer to Hall of Famer, there’s going to be an adjustment. I wasn’t saying Hall of Famer Aaron to Hall of Famer Derek. Any time you change quarterbacks is what I was getting at,” he claimed.

However, Adams went on to add that he wouldn’t say that Carr does not have the caliber to be a Hall of Famer. “I do think Derek’s career is Hall of Fame worthy, and why not? People can say that about this guy or that guy. What I would say, does he have the MVPs right now? No. Has he won the Super Bowl? Not yet. That’s obviously what we’re chasing,” he stated.

It will be interesting to see how the Davonte-Derek duo perform in the coming season.
