Could Hopkins be hinting that he has already decided his next team?

The NFL world is still in disbelief that prolific receiver DeAndre Hopkins is still looking for a new team to play for. While various franchises are interested in the three-time All-Pro, Hopkins himself has sent out a message for his future teammates, whomever they may be.
Whichever team he plays for in the future will undoubtedly acquire a star receiver. D-Hop, however, sent out a message for his future teammates on Twitter, saying, “Whoever’s in my future wide receiver group. I promise I will make your job easy.”
The 31-year-old left the Arizona Cardinals this May and is busy visiting various camps for a potential move. Recently, he swung by the Tennessee Titans dugout, and afterward, news broke out that the New England Patriots are heavy favorites.
Hopkins is capable of backing up his comments even though he has had some hiccups in the past couple of years. Since the start of 2021, Hopkins has missed 19 games due to injuries and violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing drug policy.
While he is still in his prime, few teams will avoid him, primarily due to the wage he would command and, secondly, his age. Hopkins, however, has himself brushed aside the chance to play with Dak Prescott at the Cowboys.
Meanwhile, fellow free agent Dalvin Cook, while talking with Adam Schefter, expressed his interest in playing with Hopkins, saying it would be “epic.” A duo of Cook and Hopkins does sound juicy.
Which rumored franchises suit DeAndre Hopkins the best?
Even though the 2023 NFL season is almost at the doorstep and DeAndre Hopkins cannot seem to make his mind up for now, wherever he ends up, he will command a salary cap of at least $19.45 million. This rules out quite a few franchises that don’t have the resources to spend on a receiver.
Incidentally, the Kansas City Chiefs met with Hopkins and even struck a deal. However, the Baltimore Ravens dished out $18 million for Odell Beckham Jr., and they backed out. One possible place that Hopkins can go is the Los Angeles Rams. Their quarterback, Cooper Kupp, will flourish alongside Hopkins.
However, the New England Patriots seem like the best destination for him to go to. Quarterback Mac Jones has shown that he can be better on his days and needs someone like Hopkins beside him. While Juju Smith-Schuster, Kendrick Bourne, and DeVante Parker may be good, they are not DeAndre Hopkins good. Even though the five-time pro bowler is not as explosive as he was during his Texans days, he makes up for it in other areas.
Hopkins will love to equal or better his six consecutive 1000-yard seasons, and the Patriots might help him achieve it.
