The San Francisco 49ers, despite putting in a lot of effort, failed to win the Super Bowl. The team showcased excellent football throughout the season but had to face defeat in the dying seconds. It was a late drive by Patrick Mahomes resulting in a Mecole Hardman touchdown in the OT that secured the victory.

Almost a month after accepting the defeat, Deebo Samuel expressed his grief and frustration in a conversation on the Up and Adams show. The RB claimed that it was heartbreaking as the team put in gallons of effort but still ended up losing.

It’s kind of hard, because basically our job is football, so it’s just like, ‘All right, let’s use this as motivation where you get back in the lab just to put yourself in a position and try to do your best to get back.' People just say there’s always next year, but I heard that in 2019 and it took four more years to get where we’re at. So, it’s not that easy as people think to get to the Super Bowl. It takes everything.

Samuel had a good season with seven touchdowns for 892 rushing yards. He was often targeted by the Niners’ quarterback Brock Purdy. Despite the numbers, there are rumors that the team might trade him to save a good amount.

Here is what he had to say:

I’ve kinda put it behind me. I’m about to get back in the lab in a week. I’m about to take my son to Disneyworld, after that I’ll get back in the lab. I mean, two in 5 years is pretty rough. Being right there, the two that we’ve been in. It’s just so heartbreaking man. At the end of the day, you got to move on.

It is to be seen whether Samuel stays at the Niners. Despite him ridiculing all the claims of him being traded, his future still remains uncertain.
