Patrick Mahomes would seem like the last person who would haunt people in their dreams, but the quarterback has been doing that to his opponents in the NFL for years. The San Francisco 49ers have not figured a way out to beat the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl when it matters the most.
This year, they had a legitimate shot at winning the game, but when the game went to OT, it was pretty much over for the team as Mahomes stepped up big time by successfully orchestrating the game-winning drive.
Deebo Samuel, the wide receiver of the San Francisco 49ers, could not help but give Mahomes his flowers over his performance in Super Bowl LVIII. He revealed on the Up & Adams Show,
I (was) dealing with a shoulder (injury), and (in) the second half I pulled my hamstring, so I'm just like bro, not right now, like please not right now. Then (I) was still able to go out there and try to help the team, but we just fell short...
Samuel was limited going into the game, but he ensured that he was not going to miss an opportunity to do his part and help the 49ers in their quest for the Super Bowl. But despite his best efforts, Mahomes did what he always does, just went out and dominated. When the lights are bright, he becomes a completely different animal.
Patrick Mahomes has become a nightmare for his opponents in the Super Bowl
Samuel further stated,
They got (the) great Patrick Mahomes on the other side, so you know he's capable (of) anything, and you know, our defense was playing well all game long. They played well all game long. It was just Pat Mahomes being Pat Mahomes.
The 49ers failed to close the game, but it was not their fault. They were going up against greatness.
Samuel was not able to contribute as much as he would have liked in the Super Bowl. He ended the game with 3 receptions and 33 yards. In his defense, he was not 100% healthy as he had a hamstring injury but pushed through the pain and finished the game. With this win, the 49ers lost their second Super Bowl to the Chiefs in recent memory.

Patrick Mahomes established himself as one of the greatest quarterbacks in the NFL after winning his third Super Bowl championship and MVP award. He has led the Kansas City Chiefs to become a dynasty and there is no reason to believe that he will be slowing down anytime soon.
