The San Francisco 49ers redeemed themselves from a Week 16 loss after a dazzling victory against the Washington Commanders by 27-10. But that didn’t bring them as much joy as they got after their conference rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles, suffered a loss at the hands of the Arizona Cardinals.

49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel shared a hilarious moment with San Francisco Chronicle columnist Michael Silver, alongside George Kittle and a few other teammates, on their rival’s downfall.

After Sunday’s victory, the 49ers’ players gathered around Silver in their locker room, who was live-streaming the scoring of the Eagles’ game against the Cardinals on his phone.

A clip of the Niners’ cheering over the Eagles’ loss went viral on the internet, in which Samuel and his teammates can be seen watching the final few minutes of the game, and it ended in the Cardinals’ win. The receiver shouted, “Let’s go,” as he jumped and whooped in the locker room.

Arizona’s win in week 17 has dropped the Eagles to the No. 5 seed in the NFC at 11-6, while the No. 1 seed in the NFC is once again occupied by the 49ers with a 12-4 season record. And that surely deserved a celebration!

Deebo Samuel supports Brock Purdy for the MVP over Christain McCaffrey

When the 49ers suffered the Week 16 loss against the Ravens, quarterback Brock Purdy faced quite a bit of backlash and criticism from fans and critics. But there was one person who continued to vouch for his quarterback, and that’s receiver Samuel.

Ahead of the game against the Commanders, Samuel entered the stadium wearing a customized vest with MVP embroidered on it everywhere. It had 13 written both front and back with ‘Purdy.’ The receiver wore the vest in support of quarterback Purdy, whom he believes deserves the MVP.

In the game, Purdy bounced back from his poor performance last week and logged the completion of 22 out of his 28 passes for 230 yards, along with two touchdown passes, no turnovers, and no sacks.
