The game between the Chargers and Chiefs was as exhilarating as ever. The Chiefs took the win by a narrow margin of 27-24. But, the most significant highlight of the game was the ultimate tackle by Chargers safety Derwin James on Chiefs TE Travis Kelce.

The Chiefs TE caught a pass late in the game from the QB Patrick Mahomes, Kelce was just about to reach the touchdown line but ran into Derwin James who picked him up and slammed him into the ground. The visuals were just like watching a WWE match.

The ball was lost around the end zone and was later recovered by the Chargers. Though Derwin James made an amazing tackle, the Chiefs were able to drive the ball further and opt for the field goal. They later went on to win the game in a tough game.

Derwin James is the NFL’s highest-paid safety and quite deserving as well. The Charger’s safety is present all over the field and getting past him is not an easy task. The Chiefs would have come up with a plan to counter James but probably Travis Kelce wasn’t listening and this resulted in him getting KO’ed at the end of the touchline.

Derwin James took the ultimate responsibility to stop the Chiefs from scoring a TD. Though the Chargers lost the game James should get the appreciation for his determination and efforts.

There were praises for the Charger’s safety all around on Twitter and many people thought that this was straight out of a WWE game. There was also an edit of the tackle with commentary from Jim Ross, who is a WWE commentator.

Some people argued that the tackle was rough but in Derwin James’ defence he couldn’t allow Kelce to just breeze past him to score an easy touchdown.

Though Derwin James had an exceptional personal performance, the Chargers weren’t able to salvage a win out of the Chiefs and lost the game but the team looks interesting this season and there are many more to come.
