A redemption for the Cleveland Browns and their star quarterback Deshaun Watson as they beat their division leaders, the Baltimore Ravens, in a high-scoring intense encounter. The game ended in the favor of the Browns 33-31.
Dustin Hopkins scored a 40-yard-long field goal to ensure the win for his team. It was a much-needed win for the Browns after they lost their first encounter against the Ravens by 28-3 at home. They served a sweet revenge in Baltimore.
If one deserves most of the credits behind this comeback, then it is none other than Deshaun Watson who stunned everyone with his show. His individual charisma compelled the Ravens to accept the defeat despite being excellent on the gridiron. In a post-match conversation, the Browns QB added,
I will do whatever I can with the backing of my teammates. We did the worst in the first half but we bounced back. We never quit.
It was a ‘statement’ win for the Ravens who, despite trailing by 14 points, came back strongly in the match and sealed the victory. For the first time in nine years, the team won a match despite trailing by two TDs in the fourth quarter. From the players to the coach, everyone was spotted in the mode of celebration as the team garnered a historic win in the league.
Deshaun Watson’s supremacy against the Ravens
Watson really did everything that he could do for the Browns on Sunday. He had an awful first half with the completion of just six out of his 20 passes. In addition to this, the QB threw a pick-six to the Ravens’ Kyle Hamilton. He was left with an injury on his ankle. It was a frustrating half for him as well as for the Browns as they were trailing by 17-9.
However, the second half told a different story. Watson came back in a strong manner and shattered the Ravens’ defense by completing all of his passes. He had a touchdown and guided his teammate to the game-winning field goal.
The QB completed all of his three attempts for 30 yards on that drive and rushed for 16 yards. The heroics earned respect fromBrowns coach Kevin Stefanski as he went on to say,
He's a warrior. Makes plays when they're not there. Makes unbelievable throws. Never a doubt in his mind how this game was going to turn out.
Watson suffered multiple injuries earlier this season. He was absent from crucial fixtures of the Browns. But now, the QB has indicated a sign of a comeback to the league, and the fans can hope this to last long.
