“Happy ending is not illegal”: Deshaun Watson’s attorney defends his actions and claims what he did was OK
Deshaun Watson and Rusty Hardin
Deshaun Watson should probably consult an astrologer or get his stars checked out as his time clearly seems to be bad. The quarterback has been facing a barrage of setbacks ranging from the 24 cases of sexual misconduct against him, the NFL investigating him, and now most recently, his own lawyer making his case worse. The quarterback is represented by Rusty Hardin, one of the top QB’s from Houston.
On Friday, Hardin appeared on a radio interview, he spoke about ‘happy endings’, particularly during massage sessions and he made a claim that turned out to be quite controversial. He claimed that it was not illegal to get ‘happy endings,’ the Browns QB attempted to control the damage by issuing a statement later that afternoon.
“Deshaun Watson did nothing wrong”: Rusty Hardin seems to be doing more harm than good for his client
Hardin made these comments defending his client, “Deshaun Watson did nothing wrong, and as two grand juries have made clear, Deshaun did nothing illegal. Deshaun has always acknowledged consensual sexual activity with three of the plaintiff massage therapists after massages. Deshaun has repeatedly sworn under oath that he did not force any of his accusers to have sexual contact.”
Hardin attempted to do some damage control by justifying his statement, ” On a Houston radio show interview today, I mentioned that a massage that has a ‘happy ending’ is not illegal, meaning it is not illegal for someone to have consensual sex with a therapist after a massage unless the sex is for pay. Deshaun did not pay anyone for sex. I was using the term hypothetically and not describing Deshaun’s case.”
He went on to add that, “I have reiterated to others it’s not OK to do anything that a woman does not agree to do. These women have alleged assault in their pleadings. I was speaking in a hypothetical situation. if there is a consensual sexual encounter after a massage, that is not a crime nor the basis for a civil lawsuit. I was not talking about what Deshain did or did not do or expected or did not expect.”
Rusty Hardin has indirectly put the message across that Deshaun expected to get happy endings and that he did his best to actively seek them out. While attempting to turn normal massages into something sexual, Watson did not object to reportedly offend and/or touch his therapists in an intruding manner in one or more of the massages with one or more areas of his body.
The 23 plaintiffs allege exactly that, Watson reportedly went too far in trying to make the massages a sexual encounter and that is the same expressed via Hardin’s original comment He tried his best to clean up the mess his comments made but they could be used against him in the 23 cases pending against his clients. In the event that Watson and Hardin see nothing wrong with a massage turning sexual and see nothin wrong with an effort to make a massage sexual, they are not understanding the basis of the entire allegations that rest against Deshaun.
The main issue here is that he crossed the line and attempted to get his way at the cost of others comfort and violating their dignity and privacy without their consent.
