Deshaun Watson got into a massive controversy last season, for which he paid a hefty fine and was even suspended for 11 games. The 27-year-old QB had just secured a massive trade last season.
He was traded to the Cleveland Browns from the Houston Texans while earning a record-breaking deal in the process. Amidst all of this, Watson was embroiled in a massive controversy that saw 24 women file a sexual harassment lawsuit against him.
Since then, Watson and his team of lawyers have settled cases with each one of them. However, one woman, Lauren Baxley, still remains and she wants to take the Browns QB to court.
“Today we filed a motion to put Lauren Baxley’s case on the trial docket, in the Houston court where it was originally filed,” Buzbee said in a statement. “All other victims in the Deshaun Watson litigation that this firm represented have settled their claims. Ms. Baxley, to her credit, has refused, and wants a public trial,” Lauren Baxley’s lawyer Tony Buzbee said in a statement.
Baxley is a licensed therapist who believes that Watson exposed himself in front of her while getting treatment. The Browns QB is accused of many more things by Baxley.

Lauren Baxley has filed a subpoena against Deshaun Watson

Deshaun Watson could find himself in legal trouble once again. After suffering his suspension last season, he was willing to make a comeback this year. However, it feels like this new lawsuit will take priority over that.
Lauren Baxley has also submitted the notice of a subpoena to the Texans as well as the NFL. Watson is entering the second year of his massive $230 million deal. If he won’t be able to play this year as well, the Browns will be looking to cut their losses, eventually.
On the other hand, Watson prepares for a legal battle against Lauren Baxley and her attorney Tony Buzbee. Buzbee also mentioned that this will be his last case against Watson and maybe they will give it their all this time.
“I will proudly present her case. Ms. Baxley has a strong case, and I encourage the internet trolls to take note as we proceed,” Buzbee stated. “I intend to try this last case. She deserves that and so does Mr. Watson.”
Deshaun Watson is currently preparing for the next season in the Browns training camp. Surely, this news must have come as a surprise to him, as he was willing to leave the past behind.
