The Philadelphia Eagles snapped their three-game losing streak on Monday against the New York Giants. The Eagles needed that win after three devastating losses. From 10-1 and the top seed in the NFC, they slipped to 10-4. And hence last night’s win was important for the Eagles and their morale going forward.
The Eagles haven’t played their best football in recent weeks. They dropped games against the Dallas Cowboys and the San Francisco 49ers, which saw them lose their grip on the top seed of the conference. Their receiver DeVonta Smith believes that the Eagles aren’t playing their best this season, despite an 11-4 record.
Smith said, according to Dave Zangaro of NBCSportsPhiladelphia.com:
Eleven wins? We’re not playing good football right now. As an offense, we’re not where we want to be. I’m not satisfied. Yeah, we got 11 wins. I’m not happy. It needs to be better for what I want to do, what everybody else in here wants to do, what we want to be.Devonta Smith on the Eagles
The Eagles will play their next game against the Arizona Cardinals at home. The Cardinals have been one of the worst teams in the league and the Eagles will be favored to win against them. They will finish their regular season against the New York Giants at the MetLife Stadium.
Philadelphia Eagles’ QB Jalen Hurts breaks record for most rushing TDs for a QB
The Philadelphia Eagles won their Christmas Day game on Monday against the New York Giants. They came into the game on the back of a three-game losing streak and desperately needed a win last night. Their QB Jalen Hurts delivered a great performance and broke the record for most rushing TDs for a quarterback in a season during the game.
Hurts rushed for his 15th touchdown this season, setting a single-season NFL record for most rushing touchdowns by a quarterback. Eagles HC Nick Sirianni praised Hurts for his performance after the game. Sirianni said:
I thought Jalen did a lot of good things. I thought Jalen played a really good game... I thought he did a lot of good things there, even with the pressure, but there's definitely things we need to clean up and that's as coaches and Jalen as well.
Hurts finished the game with 301 passing yards and 34 rushing yards. He had two total touchdowns and an interception and made some key plays down the stretch to help his team win the game. Hurts will look to continue his good form in the Eagles’ final two games.
