Aside from the quarterback, the second most popular position in the NFL is wide receiver. The insane catches that these receivers make in clutch moments have made them a fan favorite. Julio Jones’ unbelievable catch during Super Bowl LI comes to mind which is just one of the few examples of the ability and impact wide receivers have in the game.
The best receivers in the league right now are Davante Adams, Tyreek Hill, Justin Jefferson, and Stefon Diggs to name a few. Earlier on, only quarterbacks were paid $30 million and more on a yearly average. But after Hill made the switch from the Chiefs to the Dolphins, he became the highest-paid wide receiver in the history of the league with his four-year $120 million deal.
However, there is one wideout that everyone is sleeping on and that is DK Metcalf. While Metcalf is a star receiver, he hasn’t made any headlines this season. The 25-year-old star did have a good year as he ended the 2022 season with 90 receptions for 1,048 yards and 6 touchdowns. While he has been consistent for the Seattle Seahawks the Ole Miss alum is yet to cement himself as one of the best wideouts in the NFL.

DK Metcalf is looking like a beast in the offseason
DK Metcalf wowed the scouts during the NFL combine with his 6ft 4 height coupled with his explosiveness and speed. He was touted to be one of the best receivers in the league and selected by the Seahawks in the second round of the 2019 NFL draft. During his combine, Metcalf ran a 4.33 40-yard dash and had a 40.5 in vertical.
Metcalf went viral on Friday for his jaw-dropping catch. He posted a video on Twitter showcasing his catching ability which was damn impressive. He made a one-handed catch and jumped a significant amount to make it. His vertical had everyone on the Internet lose their minds and most of them couldn’t believe that DK made that catch and suggested that the video was doctored because there is no way anyone can jump THAT high!
Not just the NFL, DK Metcalf has been making a name for himself in the NBA as well. The Seahawks receiver went off during the 2023 NBA Celebrity Game on Friday at Jon M. Huntsman Center as he led Team Dwyane to an 81-78 win against Team Ryan. Metcalf emerged as the MVP of the game after he scored 20 points and 10 rebounds. If Metcalf is his explosive in the offseason imagine what havoc he is going to wreak in the coming season!
