The Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf is currently one of the best wide receivers in the league. He has been a dominating force in the Seahawks’ offensive unit ever since he entered the league back in 2019. The talented wideout recently shared his list of the top 5 wide receivers of all time and surprisingly ranked Antonio Brown as the number 1 pass catcher of all time.

Metcalf made an appearance in a recent episode of the CBS Sports podcast All Things Covered. During the episode, Metcalf was asked to rank the greatest wide receivers of all time. The Seahawks wideout didn’t hesitate to answer and provided his list. Metcalf listed Antonio Brown, Randy Moss, Terrell Owens, Jerry Rice, and Julio Jones as the top 5 greatest wide receivers of all time in that particular order.

The former Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown certainly had a remarkable career on the field. But his field antics ended up resulting in Brown’s career ending prematurely. Most people don’t rate Brown as a top 5 receiver because of his constant off-field fiascos. Besides, even strictly considering on-field production, Brown doesn’t have the numbers like Randy Moss, Jerry Rice, and a few other top receivers.

Fans took problem with Metcalf’s list for ranking Brown in the top 5 ahead of Moss, Rice, and the Detroit Lions receiver Calvin Johnson. For perspective, Jerry Rice registered 22,895 receiving yards and 197 touchdowns during his remarkable career. He leads the league all-time in the majority of wide receiver statistics.

On the other hand, Brown played 12 seasons in the league and registered 12,291 yards, and scored 88 touchdowns. Rice has 10k more receiving yards and 100+ more receiving touchdowns than Brown. So putting Antonio Brown ahead of Rice as the greatest receiver of all time surprised a lot of fans.

The Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf has been a solid asset for the Seattle-based franchise. He joined them back in 2019 as a second-round draft pick out of Mississippi.

Metcalf proved his worth and signed a 3-year contract extension during the 2022 off-season worth up to $72 million. However, Metcalf has only one Pro Bowl appearance in 4 years and is yet to register an All-Pro season.

And now, in 2023, the wide receiver would have better chemistry with his QB Geno Smith and he would look to receive his second Pro Bowl nod and register a first-team All-Pro season.
