Elijah Holyfield is an American football player and the son of former boxing World Heavyweight Champion Evander Holyfield. He is now awaiting another chance to play in the NFL after his previous stints with the Carolina Panthers, Philadelphia Eagles, and Cincinnati Bengals. Amidst this, the 25-year-old, who is recovering from an ACL surgery, has now shared his off-season workout video, in which he looks absolutely jacked.
Elijah shared a short 1-minute clip from his workout session with the caption, “11 Months Post ACL Surgery…back ready to go!” According to reports, Elijah is listed at 215 pounds but in the video, he looks like a massive bodybuilder. If he is indeed 215 pounds, that is 215 pounds of pure muscle.
There is a depressing market for running backs in the league currently. Top running backs are not getting paid and backs like Elijah, who are just trying to prove themselves in the league, would cost less money for the franchises. The 5’11” half-back used to be a great player during his college days at Georgia.
During his junior year with the Georgia Bulldogs, Elijah registered 1018 rushing yards and 7 rushing touchdowns. Elijah, son of Evander Holyfield, decided to forgo his senior year in college and declared for the NFL Draft in 2019. But his name wasn’t called up on the draft and he ended up signing with the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted free agent.
Elijah Holyfield is a free agent looking for a new home in the league
The Georgia Bulldogs product Elijah Holyfield has had a tough start to his NFL career. After the conclusion of the 2019 draft, Holyfield signed with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent but never played a snap for them.
After that, he had a one-year tenure with the Eagles, where he played just one game and later signed with the Bengals as a free agent. When he was right on track for a roster spot in the Cincinnati-based football team, Elijah, unfortunately, suffered an ACL injury just before the 2022 season.
He had ACL surgery almost a year ago and has now fully recovered. He recently uploaded his training video, which went viral on social media, gaining almost half a million views.
Elijah doesn’t have the explosiveness and elusiveness for a running back, but he is great when it comes to gaining yards after the contract since his big build prevents him from being tackled down easily. He would be a great asset for any team that signs him in the red zone and short-yardage situations.
