The Detroit Lions have finally made the playoffs for the first time in nearly 8 years. And the only team that stands between them and their first playoff win in three decades is the Los Angeles Rams led by the former Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford. Ahead of the crucial wildcard game, Detroit rapper and lifelong Lions fan Marshall Mathers, famously known as Eminem sends a request to Stafford in a hilarious video.

In a brief video shared by SNFonNBC on X, Eminem made a hilarious request to the Super Bowl-winning quarterback Stafford about letting the Lions win the game on Sunday.

Stafford, what'd I say? You owe me this favor, bro. I was there for you when you won [Super Bowl LVI]...I was right there. I rapped for you, Stafford. Bro, I rapped for you. Can you just let us have this one? Just this one.

The 51-year-old rapper was referring to performing at the Super Bowl LVI halftime with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and 50 Cent when the Stafford-led Rams won the championship game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Besides, Eminem has probably been repping for Stafford for the better part of his life, since the former Pro Bowl QB spent 12 years in Detroit.

Now, Eminem would be rooting against Stafford in the Rams’ playoff game against the Lions on Sunday. Stafford has played 7 playoff games in his career and won 4 of them.

However, all of his victories came when he was part of the Rams. He is yet to lose a postseason game as the Rams QB. Eminem would hope his team could change that this weekend.

Eminem and the Lions fans have been waiting for a playoff victory for a long time

The Lions led by Jared Goff won the first NFC North division title in the franchise’s history and clinched a playoff spot. They are set to take on the Matthew Stafford-led Rams in their wildcard game on Sunday.

The last time, Detroit won a playoff game was way back in 1991 when Eminem was just around 19 years old. In the last 3 decades, the Lions haven’t won a single playoff game. On Sunday, Eminem and the Lions fans would hope their team can end that abysmal streak.

The Lions clinched the playoff spot by winning the NFC North division with a solid record of 12 wins and 5 losses. On the other hand, the Rams made it to the postseason as a wildcard team with a 10-7 record.

So, the Lions certainly have what it takes to win the game. Their fans can’t take another playoff heartbreak, especially at the hands of their former quarterback.
