Tyreek Hill is currently one of the best wide receivers in the league. Last season, Hill surprised a lot of people by joining the Miami Dolphins and having the best season of his career so far. However, the talented wideout is expecting to one-up last season by breaking the former Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson‘s receiving yards record in the upcoming season and Fox Sports analyst Emmanuel Acho believes Hill can get it done.

According to Profootballnetwork.com, the Dolphins‘ speedy receiver Tyreek Hill claims that he is aiming to have a 2000+ receiving yards season in 2023 since he has every right tool around.

“Oh yeah, for sure [it’s a realistic goal],” Hill said about registering 2000 receiving yards in the upcoming season. “I think the added [17th] game gives me quite the advantage, so yeah, I feel like I’ve got the right tools around me.”

No player has ever accounted for 2000+ receiving yards in NFL history. Currently, the former Lions receiver Calvin Johnson holds the record for most receiving yards in a single season. He registered 1,974 receiving yards back in 2012.

Tyreek Hill needs to average 117.6 receiving yards per game to break the 2000 yards barrier. Last season, Hill had the best year of his career and averaged 100.6 yards per game. So, it is highly unlikely he would break Calvin’s record, but he still has an outside shot at doing it.

The Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill’s ambitious claim that he will break Calvin Johnson’s record in 2023 might be next to impossible, but Fox Sports analyst Emmanuel Acho believes in the speedy wide receiver.

During a recent episode of the Fox Sports show, SPEAK, the former Philadelphia Eagles linebacker, cited Hill’s remarkable 2022 performance and claimed that the All-Pro receiver has what it takes to break Johnson’s record.

“Think about what Tyreek Hill gave you last year at the wide receiver position. I believe it was over 1700 yards, many people thought he might break the single-season receiving record. I believe he could do so this season,” said Acho.

Tyreek Hill played with multiple quarterbacks last season since the Dolphins’ first-string QB, Tua Tagovailoa, suffered multiple injuries. But now Tua seems healthy, and if he can stay healthy for the entire season, Hill certainly has a shot at breaking the 2000+ receiving yards barrier.

Nonetheless, Hill and Tagovailoa would be more focused on leading the Dolphins to a deep postseason run in the upcoming season. Single-season records would be a secondary goal for the 29-year-old wide receiver.
