As the 2023 NFL season enters its final chapter, teams who struggled to find a playoff berth will look to improve their roster, starting with the NFL Draft. One team that will have a lot of eyes on them during the draft is the Chicago Bears.

The Bears have the number one pick in this year’s draft, so it will be interesting to see what route they take, especially with a talent like USC QB Caleb Williams in the draft pool.

The Bears have already have a young QB in Justin Fields. However, after a dismal start to his NFL career, a lot of analysts and fans alike are calling for the Bears to move on from their third-year quarterback. Analyst Emmanuel Acho though, had a confusing take on what the Bears should and should not do with their number one pick.

Acho said on a recent episode of Fox Sports show, Speak:

It is easier to hit on one player in Caleb Williams than it is to hit on four players. It’s easier in my mind to simply hit on Caleb Williams than it is to pray you hit on three or four picks, not to mention, you can trade Justin Fields for a second- or third-round pick.

Acho’s former teammate, Clay Harbor also questioned the analyst’s argument.

There is no clear-cut solution for this, but it is more plausible for a franchise to get multiple playmakers to help their 24-year-old QB, than to draft Williams, who hasn’t played a single snap in the NFL.

The Chicago Bears have a decision to make as they hold the most important pick in the franchise’s recent history. The Bears will select first overall in what is the most stacked QB draft class in quite some time.

However, the Bears already have a competent QB in Justin Fields and will have to decide whether to go ahead with him, or draft Caleb Williams, who is touted as a generational prospect.

Emmanuel Acho, the Fox Sports analyst, feels that the Bears should draft Williams instead of acquiring multiple playmakers for the number one pick. The former NFL player was slammed on social media for his take. Here are some of the reactions to it.

The Bears are 7-9 through 17 weeks of the season. Their QB Fields had a slow start to the season, but has since picked up his game and has been good in recent weeks. The Bears will end their campaign against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.
