Emmanuel Acho believes that the Dallas Cowboys have a lot of positives to take from their 28-23 preseason loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The player-turned-analyst singled out running back Deuce Vaughn as the star of the Dallas camp.
The 5-foot-5 rookie stole the show with some mazy runs. In the end, he finished the day with 50 rushing yards, a touchdown on eight carries, and three receptions for six yards. This made Dak Prescott blurt out the F word on the mic out of excitement.
Not bad for someone who was picked in the sixth round of this year’s NFL Draft. The Kansas product looked like a seasoned veteran, even drawing comparisons with Super Bowl winner Darren Sproles. He definitely made some new fans, and one of them is Fox Sports’ Speak host Emmanuel Acho.
“Deuce Vaughn is so freaking fun to watch,” Acho wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “His vision, burst, and feet are next level!”
Thankfully for Deuce Vaughn, he did not have any “welcome to the NFL rookie” moments in the match. This would be a good stepping stone for the 21-year-old, as he battles for a starting spot with Tony Pollard, as Ezekiel Elliott is now a free agent.

Deuce Vaughn thanks his OLBs for allowing him to play his game

After the game concluded on Sunday, Deuce Vaughn spoke to the media. He revealed that he couldn’t take all the credit for the plays he made.
“I can’t take all of the credit,” Vaughn said. “All of those guys up front were blocking their butts off all game. It’s a testament to all of the work.”
His swashbuckling play awoke a sleepy crowd, which saw the Jacksonville Jaguars dominate the match. As he reached the end zone, the stadium was engulfed with “Deuce” chants. A roaring support provides the players with renewed energy, but it can also be disconcerting at times. However, Vaughn knows how to shut that out.
“I never notice the crowd whenever I’m playing,” he said. “I’m so locked in. But the crowd was electric tonight.” (H/T: DallasCowboys.com)
This game will surely give him confidence for the regular season and wash away all the first-game jitters. Vaughn admitted that there are a few areas he wants to work on before the next run. The Dallas Cowboys will play their second preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks on August 20.
