Emmanuel Acho claims this week’s ‘much-awaited’ Eagles-Dolphins game might be a Super Bowl preview

Acho feels there will be no other matchup like the Eagles vs the Dolphins that can be called a Super Bowl preview.

The biggest game to date in the 2023 NFL season promises to be an overabundance of entertainment. This showdown between the Miami Dolphins and the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field could prove to be a Super Bowl preview, according to Emmanuel Acho.

Not only do the two teams share the same winning record going into Sunday, but there’s also a personal history associated with it. Both quarterbacks, who once shared a common goal during their time in Alabama, find themselves on opposing teams. Dolphins Tua Tagovailoa was the stand-in for Eagles Jalen Hurts when Nick Saban needed him, and he delivered.

Not only that, it will be the two sides’ first meeting since December 2019. And judging by the starts they have made, this fixture becomes very important, not just for the two sides but for the future of their respective divisions. There is already a clear distinction between the front runners in the AFC and the NFC. But this match in particular could make or break the trajectory of where the teams could end up.

It could be a preview [of the Super Bowl], man, it could be. If not this game, then I don't know if we will see a better Super Bowl preview this season.

The retired football player pointed out that the Dolphins and the Eagles are the only two teams, besides probably the San Francisco 49ers and the Detroit Lions, that can make a push. What’s interesting is that he did not count the Kansas City Chiefs as one of the favorites but rather added the Baltimore Ravens to the mix.

Is the Philadelphia Eagles vs. the Miami Dolphins really a preview for the Super Bowl, as Acho claims?

The Miami Dolphins are undeniably on a rampage, leading the league with net yards (2,992) after six games. Head coach Mike McDaniel has created a team that knows how to get past other teams. But there’s a catch, as few analysts would point out. The naysayers will point out that the South Beach franchise has had the easiest schedule so far in the NFL. The opponents in their five wins have a combined record of 5-24. But when it mattered the most, they flunked 48-20 against the Buffalo Bills. A win against Sunday’s opponents would validate their dominance once more.

However, the Eagles are the reigning NFC Champions with a proven pedigree. With Hurts, they have someone who can perform under pressure. But that hasn’t been the case. He has seven interceptions already in the league and gets bailed out time and time again by the stingy Eagles’ defense. Still, he was last year’s MVP runner-up, and on the other hand, Tagovailoa is the early frontrunner to win it this season.

There are other factors at play besides the two quarterbacks. A wide receiver core from both sides will also be a key component on the day. Tyreek Hill is the obvious player to keep an eye on. In just six games, he is close to eclipsing the 1000-yard mark and on the path to reaching 2000. For the Eagles, A.J. Brown is close second to Hill but still 200 yards short. Brown is a consistent performer.
