ESPN analyst and notorious Tom Brady hater Ryan Clark has yet again come up with a horrible take about the 7-time Super Bowl Champion. This time the former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive back claims that the Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes is already a better individual quarterback than the former Buccaneers and Patriots legend Tom Brady.
Appearing on ESPN’s recent First Take episode the one-time Pro Bowler declared that Patrick Mahomes is so immensely talented that he doesn’t necessarily need to win Super Bowls to be in the GOAT conversation with the former Buccaneers QB. “There’s two reasons to have this conversation, a quarterback has immense talent and success extremely early and that doesn’t necessarily need Super Bowls,” said Clark about why the 2022 league MVP Mahomes is already in the GOAT conversation.
The former Super Bowl Champion then went on to say Patrick Mahomes’ unprecedented talent is why he will become the GOAT. “Patrick Mahomes is in this conversation because the first time we saw him play, we were like, this is different and then the next year you win the MVP as a first-year starter and you go to the Super Bowl and you win the Super Bowl and then you’re back again,” said Clark. “So now the conversation starts to be like, we believe, based on the eye test and based on the film, he’s a better individual quarterback than Tom Brady.”
Clark went as far as to say that if people had to draft either Mahomes or Brady, many would choose Mahomes. “If you had to draft one of these guys even knowing what Tom Brady finished as you’d take Patrick Mahomes, I believe everybody would do that,” said Clark.

Fans on social media did not agree with Ryan Clark’s controversial opinion about how the Chiefs’ sixth-year quarterback Patrick Mahomes is already better than the 15-time Pro Bowler Tom Brady. Many people believe that the 5-time Pro Bowler Mahomes is on the right track to eclipse Brady, but he still has a long way to go before he could be considered better than the Buccaneers legend.
On the sporting side of things, Patrick Mahomes would be focused on improving his resume by adding another ring to his name this Sunday, when he and the Chiefs face the Jalen Hurts-led Philadelphia Eagles. If he could win this Super Bowl and the Super Bowl MVP award, he would potentially crack many people’s top five quarterbacks list.
