“Sign him right now,” ESPN reporter believes the Jets shouldn’t wait on Aaron Rodgers who will possibly stay in Green Bay and just sign Derek Carr
Aaron Rodgers will most probably stay in Green Bay as per multiple reports.

The 2023 offseason is filled with superstar quarterbacks who are free agents or looking for a trade, namely Derek Carr, Jimmy Garoppolo, Aaron Rodgers, and possibly Lamar Jackson. There was a lot of buzz surrounding Rodgers’ potential shift to the Jets or maybe to the Raiders. Jackson on the other hand is likely to be franchise tagged by the Ravens to work out a deal or find an appropriate trade for him.
Aaron Rodgers has finally resurfaced after his 4-day darkness retreat in Oregon and looks like he has made a definite decision about his future in the league. NFL insider Tom Pelissero recently revealed that Green Bay Packers are willing to welcome back the 4x league MVP with open arms if that’s what he really wants. With $60 million on the table and the Packers being the only team he has ever played for, Rodgers might end up with them in 2023.
The New York Jets made a strong case for Rodgers playing for them in the coming season but now that looks really bleak and with Zach Wilson’s poor performance coupled with his behavior issues, they will remain without a strong quarterback. But that’s not really the case! The Jets are trying to court nine-year veteran Derek Carr to New York.
The Jets promised Derek Carr that he can be a HOF quarterback with them
As per recent reports, the Jets had Derek Carr over at their facility and told him that he could be a First-Ballot Hall of Famer if he comes to New York and win games for them. That’s a bold statement for them to make! However, they need to be aggressive because Rodgers coming to the Jets isn’t going to happen and they hold the 13th overall pick in the draft so signing a great quarterback is out of the question.
ESPN reporter Jeff Darlington said on Get Up that a very important Pakcers source is of the opinion that Aaron Rodgers will be back in Green Bay for his 19th season in the NFL. “If that’s not total BS [The Jets saying Carr will be a Hall of Famer]. If they are just not trying to inflate him which maybe that is the case. Go sign Derek Carr right now,” Darlington said.
He added that rather than waiting on Rodgers who might or might not be available, the Jets should just sign Carr who they promised will become a First-Ballot Hall of Fame quarterback playing for them. The quarterback free agency is turning out to be really interesting with teams promising the world to these signal-callers. Let’s see who ends up with which team for the 2023 season!
