“Even Rihanna gets pre-show jitters” Badgalriri is ‘nervous’ and ‘excited’ to headline her first Super Bowl halftime show in 2023

Rihanna is set to break her 6 year-long hiatus from music by headlining the NFL Super Bowl halftime show. The nine-time Grammy award winner broke the news on her Instagram when she posted a picture of a football. Fans are excited as they will see Rihanna on the big stage after a long time.

Rihanna was recently asked how she feels about headlining the biggest sporting event in the country to which the Pop Star replied she is nervous yet pretty excited. Who knew that a superstar like Rihanna can get pre-show jitters?

This is not the first time Rihanna was approached by the NFL to perform at the Super Bowl. In 2018, Rihanna declined to perform at the half-time ceremony as she didn’t like how the league handled the former 49ers QB, Colin Kaepernick’s situation.

This time it is confirmed that Rihanna will perform, but it has not revealed the singers joining her for a song or two until now. There’s a reported roster of 50 artists from which some will be chosen to accompany the pop star on the big stage. We won’t get to see her long-time boyfriend and father of her child A$AP Rocky as she shrugged off on that possibility herself.

Rihanna rejected to be a part of the show because she didn’t align with the NFL’s belief at the time relating to the treatment of Colin Kaepernick as he took a knee during the national anthem in protest of police brutality and injustice.

“I couldn’t dare do that. For what? Who gains from that? Not my people. I just couldn’t be a sellout. I couldn’t be an enabler,” the Barbadian singer confessed to Vogue. “There’s things within that organization that I do not agree with at all, and I was not about to go and be of service to them in any way.”

Maroon 5 later headlined the same show, led by Adam Levine and a special appearance from ‘Goosebumps’ star Travis Scott. Rihanna will look to set the stage on fire and beat the viewership that the last season’s half-time show garnered.

Rappers like Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Dr Dre and 50 Cent headlined last season’s Super Bowl halftime show, which proved to be a huge success garnering over 150 million views.
