C.J. Stroud has had a fantastic start to his NFL career. Even though the Houston Texans are 1-2 through three weeks, Stroud has been playing extremely well en route to winning the NFL Rookie of the Month award for September. He has thrown for 906 yards, 4 TDs, and no picks in the first three games and has a 98 passer rating. He led the Texans to a surprise win over the Jacksonville Jaguars last Sunday.

Stroud’s early success in the league might be attributed to his chemistry with his teammates. He has reportedly been hosting his fellow Texans for dinner almost every night. He has a private chef come over to his place as he invites his teammates for dinner. Stroud has been doing this since his Ohio State days. He recently invited TE Dalton Schultz for a taco night at his place.

“I was like, ‘S***, man,’” Schultz said. “‘Well, it’s Tuesday. I can’t turn down tacos on a Tuesday.’” Schultz later revealed that the Tacos were “some of the better” ones he’s had in Texas. Stroud also played Schultz’s favorite movie, ‘Zombieland,’ and they watched the movie together. “I was like, ‘Hell yeah,’” the TE said. “‘We’re in for a good little ride here.’” Stroud has been doing this with other teammates too, making sure he builds a good rapport with them.

The Texans drafted Stroud second overall in this year’s draft. He played college football with the Ohio State Buckeyes for three seasons and finished third in the Heisman voting last year. After a stellar start to his NFL career, Stroud will hope to continue his elite play against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.
