Quinnen Williams is a talented defensive tackle who has been part of the New York Jets since the beginning of his career. The 25-year-old’s rookie contract is up, and another deal is on the cards for him.
The Jets are currently on a roll after signing the legendary Aaron Rodgers. The New York-based team is going all in and constructing a great team that can easily challenge in the division as well as the playoffs.
Williams was drafted by the Jets in the first round of the 2019 NFL draft. Now, he is firmly on his way to becoming one of the highest-paid DTs in the league. HC Robert Saleh is extremely confident that the management will negotiate a deal with the young defensive star before the training camp kicks off in full effect.
However, there are some minor concerns that the Jets and Williams will have to resolve together. According to NFL agent Joel Corry, there are a number of things holding back Williams from becoming the highest-paid DT in the league.
“It could be length of the contract,” Corry told the Post. “The market has been set at four years, so if the Jets want five years, it’s not getting done unless they want to pay through the nose for the fifth year. … Or, if he is looking for $25 million to $30 million per year, that’s the other reason why.”
It is strongly speculated that Williams’ new contract will see him earn around $24 -$25 million in a single season. However, he will still be behind LA Rams DT Aaron Donald, who’s the highest earner in his position at $31 million.

Fans want the Jets to complete the Quinnen Williams deal quickly

Social media has completely backed Quinnen Williams and wants him to have his deserving contract extension as soon as possible. After the new reports of Williams signing a deal were released, NFL Twitter was alleviated and applauded the young DT.
Williams is represented by star agent Nicole Lynn, who recently secured a massive record-breaking deal for the Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts. Therefore, it is expected that she will do the same with Williams, who has proved his worth time and time again in New York.
Social media understands that Williams is a huge asset to the team and wants him to get paid at the earliest. They are also confident that the Jets star won’t leave the team and will come to terms with them.
Quinnen Williams has turned out to be a fan favorite in New York ever since he was drafted. Now, the fans are rooting for him and urging the Jets to extend his contract and get him paid at the earliest.
