Despite having a handy win against the Tennessee Titans, the Pittsburgh Steelers are not in a mood of comfort. Kenny Pickett, their quarterback had a bad game as he only covered 160 yards of passing with just one touchdown. In addition to this, the player had an ugly throw to his co-player George Pickens. The video went viral on Twitter (presently X) and the netizens started questioning his ability to find his players through good passes.
During a crucial moment in the game, Pickett had the ball and was looking for a teammate. After a quick scan of the players on the field, he chose to pass to Pickens, the nearest player. The plan seemed good, but the execution was terrible. The throw to Pickens was way off the mark, going over his head and landing several meters away.
This poor throw disappointed not just the fans but also the players and others, raising doubts about Pickett’s ability. Or maybe not the Pittsburgh Steelers’ QB but someone else’s. A theory also emerged as to whether the throw was intentional. Some people even questioned on Twitter whether Pickett wanted to accelerate the sacking of their offensive coordinator Matt Canada and whether he intentionally threw the ball like that.
The disappointment regarding OC Matt among the Stellers fans is nothing new. They even booed the OC multiple times and have been running a campaign ‘Out Matt Canada.” They also booed the OC in the match against the Titans as well.
Twitter went crazy over Kenny Pickett’s throw
Netizens were awestruck with the throw of Kenny Pickett. They expressed their disappointment on Twitter. One of them also asked the question of whether it was intentional to sack Canada.
Check out some of the fans’ reactions:
Despite longstanding campaigns by the fans, the team management has full faith in Matt Canada. They have backed Canada and made it clear that they have no intention to let him go. The Steelers are up by 5-3 and for the rest of the season, Matt will be their offensive coordinator. This will certainly not please the fans who are willing to see him out.
