The past two weeks were very difficult for the Philadelphia Eagles. Their winning horse suffered a major halt as they were humbled by both the San Francisco 49ers and the Dallas Cowboys. After suffering defeat in back-to-back games, the team is trying to analyze the exposed vulnerabilities to get back on the right track.

Speaking to the press, the defensive tackle of the Eagles, Fletcher Cox, expressed that it is the right time for the senior leadership to step up and show the right direction to the rest of the team. The Super Bowl LII winner also added that he has witnessed teams succumbing to the pressure in conditions like these. Cox does not want to see his team failing in this situation.

Let's be honest we got punched in the mouth two weeks in a row. We got blood dripping from our lip. This team... we get stitched up. We will get all corrected. Now we have a little more time to think about it. We won't play till Monday. So now we have time to think about what is going on and correct it. We will hold each other accountable and move on.

The Philadelphia Eagles were the best team in the season till the 49ers shook them in front of the home crowd. They broke their 9-1 record, and the Cowboys followed the ‘blueprint’ of beating the Eagles that the 49ers executed.

In the same pattern, the Cowboys thrashed the Eagles. In both of the games, the NFL crowd saw an inactive Jalen Hurts. His failure inevitably led to the failure of the team.

With this, a pertinent question is hitting the air. Are the Eagles too much Hurts-dependent?

Fletcher Cox further suggested other leaders to step up

Because the Eagles suffered due to the ineffectiveness of the offense, Cox suggested that it is the right time for others to step up and show leadership qualities. The DT further said,

It's one of them things man, you know, tough, you know, two in a row. I think the biggest thing for this team now is really find out who the dudes are. And that's always the case. And I've been part of teams where the dudes in the locker room do something about it.

The Eagles can still match their last season’s 10-3 record and can move on to the Super Bowl championship game. However, they need to win the rest of the matches for that.

They are no longer the favorite for the No.1 seed in the NFC Championship as they share the same record with the 49ers and the Cowboys. In addition, Jalen Hurts’ health is a concern. Multiple analysts have argued that Hurts need some rest to stay fit for the final leg of the competition.

It will be interesting to see whether the Eagles give some rest to Hurts in the coming games or not. The Eagles are to face the Seattle Seahawks next, who are currently 6-7 and are desperate for a win.
