“WOAH”: Former Cowboys DL calls Dak Prescott the most ‘OVERRATED’ player in the NFL

Dak Prescott and Chris Canty

Dak Prescott is a name to reckon with in the world of the NFL. However, when Jerry Jones’ Cowboys gave Dak Prescott a massive four-year, $160 million contract in the 2021 offseason, many were left unimpressed. Although Dak is incredible, he still had a lot to prove to justify the price tag.

Giving him as much as $126 million in guaranteed money was being regarded as a rather bad move by the franchise. Moreover, it would be fair to say that Dak was far from his best during the 2021 season in which the Cowboys weren’t able to go any further than the wild card round.

“He lost a home playoff game to Jimmy Garoppolo”: Chris Canty on Dak Prescott

There is no doubt about the fact that Dak is supremely talented but at the same, the man didn’t do justice to his abilities during the last season which is why, Chris Canty, on his list of top 5 most overrated players, placed the Cowboys QB on the top spot.

I don’t know if he is among even the top 12 quarterbacks in the NFL. All I am going to say is that Dak Prescott needs to find a way to deliver when it matters the most, during the postseason because he lost a home playoff game to a quarterback that the San Francisco 49ers spent three first round draft picks trying to replace him, Jimmy Garoppolo,” Canty stated.

They gave you such a massive contract and all you got to show in return is one playoff win. You are better than that. You can argue that since 2016, no quarterback has done less with more. Dak is on the top of the list, I don’t want to be disrespectful but it is what it is,” Canty further added.

Prescott ends up getting a lot of attention because he is getting paid a hefty amount and when you are paid so handsomely, you have to deliver, otherwise, you might end up attracting a lot of harsh criticism. It will be interesting to see how Dak performs in the coming season.
