Seems like Justin Jefferson had it enough, as he finally opened up about the real reason why he missed the last six games of the Minnesota Vikings, and whether he would return on Monday or not. Fans all over the internet have been texting the wide receiver for over a month now, for missing games for ulterior motives.
Jefferson and the Vikings have made it clear many times that the only reason why their wideout had to miss the last six games is because of a strained right hamstring. Their first focus is his recovery over anything else. But fans aren’t buying the story.
The frustrated wide receiver said:
If I miss this one, it's going to be the seventh game. So it's definitely frustrating, and it's tough to be patient and try to make sure that an injury heals properly. It's definitely not something I want to do, but it comes with the game, it comes with trying to be healthy, trying to be 100% and the safe route."
As Jefferson’s recovery has been good lately, he can join the practice routes, the Vikings hinted at his possible return after the injury. However, it’s still under dim light whether he would play the Monday night football game against the Chicago Bears or not.
While taking on that matter, the Vikings’ wide receiver said:
I'm not sure. We'll see. We still have more days to practice and really evaluate everything.
What are the chances of Justin Jefferson returning on Monday?
The wide receiver Jefferson sustained a severe injury at the beginning of last month, on October 8th. Due to this, his team had to put him on reserve a couple of days later. The news of him getting back into practice came on November 8th, which means Jefferson may be good to go by November 29th. Otherwise, Minnesota would have to put him on injured reserve for the remaining season.
It’s for sure that the wideout is going to return, the mystery is when. The team has agreed to hold him off until he recovers absolutely 100%. In a conversation with head coach Kevin O’Connell, earlier this week, it was found the chances of Jefferson returning on the field by Monday is extremely slim.
The Vikings are hoping to give him an extra week for recovery in their bye week. Right now, Jefferson is putting all his focus on his speedy recovery so that he could return healthy in week 14, against the Las Vegas Raiders.
