Rob Gronkowski is a name to be reckoned with in the NFL. Gronk is widely considered one of the greatest tight ends in NFL history due to his consistent performance for 11 years in the league.

Gronkowski was selected in the second round of the 2010 NFL draft by the New England Patriots, and he quickly became a favorite target for Tom Brady. The duo became one of the most feared QB-TE pairs due to their uncanny ability to connect on crucial downs and for touchdowns in the redzone.

During his nine-year stint in Foxboro and a two-year stint in Tampa Bay, Rob Gronkowski won 4 Super Bowls, along with a list of accolades that won’t fit in one page. There is no doubt that he will be a first-ballot Hall of Famer in the future. Recently, Gronk revealed how he got to the position of the greatest tight end of all time, which is an apt Gronk answer.

Gronk joined Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show on Monday and shared that partying was one of the main contributors to his greatness on the field. Gronk said that growing up in Buffalo played a huge role in helping him become the player he is today. “The Bills Mafia, they’re tailgating. They’re jumping off RVs into tables, breaking open. That’s how I grew up,” Gronk told Fallon. “It makes me better if I party. I’m a better player out on the field.”

Talking about his partying, the former Buccaneers tight end added, “Well, I’m carrying my friends, you know, throughout the bar. I’m holding them up! I’m lifting. I’m curling them! There on my back, I’m jumping up and down! I’m dancing the whole time. Kinda like Austin Butler. I’m gyrating! and then I realized, that translated to the football field.”  Whatever he did while partying sure made him a better tight end than anyone in the league.

During his entire career, Rob Gronkowski had 621 receptions for 9,286 yards, and 92 touchdowns and that’s just in the regular season. He scored 15 more touchdowns in the postseason along with 1389 yards. He was named to New England Patriots All – 2010s Team and New England Patriots All-Dynasty Team along with 5x Pro Bowl selections and 4x First-Team All-Pro.

Let’s just hope the younger tight ends in the league don’t follow in Gronk’s footsteps because he was an entirely different breed of a tight end that comes once or twice in a generation. There were rumors floating around that he is going to unretire for a second time and come play with Tom Brady wherever he lands in 2023, but it might be nothing more than a rumor. Still, it’ll be a treat to watch the two of them together once again on the field scoring touchdowns.
