WATCH: George Pickens fails to get his foot down just in time resulting in Steelers’ TD being bizarrely overturned
Pickens only had 2 receptions against the Titans on Thursday night.

It was one of those days for George Pickens. The second-year Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver could have recorded one of the catches of the season. Unfortunately, he couldn’t put both of his feet down on time.
During the 6-minute mark in the third quarter against the Tennessee Titans, Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett received a snap on 3rd and 3 near the 20-yard line. He looked up and saw Pickens wide open, ghosting into the endzone. Pickens caught the ball, and it was given a touchdown.
However, after a couple of reviews, the on-field referee overturned the ruling. They reported that Pickens, despite the spectacular catch, failed to plant the right foot down inbounds. His left was on the white boundary line. If only the 22-year-old had managed to be a bit aware of where he was, then the Steelers could have taken a point or possibly a 5-point lead, but instead, the score remained 13-10.
George Pickens’ had a horrible outing against the Tennessee Titans
Since he taunted the Jacksonville Jaguars of fielding a ‘hopeful defense,’ Pickens’ luck seemed to have diminished. Before facing their AFC counterpart, he crossed the 100-yard mark in back-to-back games against the Ravens and the Chargers.
However, during the Jags game, he hit a wall, so to speak. The entire match had only one reception, even though it was a touchdown. He refrained from facing the media afterwards, and after Thursday night’s horror show, he may avoid the media for a few days. The 2022 second-round pick only managed 2 receptions for -1 yard before being benched. He was catching the ball while on the sidelines rather than on it.
To make things worse, his wide receiver partner, Diontae Johnson, broke his long-standing streak without a touchdown. Johnson caught a 3-yard touchdown from Kenny Pickett with just over 4 minutes remaining. It was his first TD in 2 years, or approximately 668 days, as per NFL.com.
Most Steelers players were thrilled that they finally took the lead on the night, except for George Pickens. As Johnson and others celebrated, cameras panned toward the former Georgia Bulldog man. Instead of joining in on the fun, he was sitting on the bench as if he had just lost the Super Bowl.
It’s not like he is not a capable receiver. He started 12 games in his rookie year and had 801 yards, 4 receiving touchdowns, and 1 rushing touchdown.
