With just 6 months left for the Super Bowl LVIII, the NFL is trying to rope in a big-name artist to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show. The league reportedly extended an opportunity to the pop music sensation Taylor Swift but the artist ended up declining it citing scheduling conflicts. And now, popular artists Harry Styles and Miley Cyrus emerge as top candidates to perform at the halftime show.

According to The Pop Hive and The Pop Tingz, the NFL has had talks with 3-time Grammy Award winner Harry Styles and the famed pop singer Miley Cyrus about decorating the stage at the Super Bowl halftime show that is scheduled to take place in February. This news comes after Taylor Swift allegedly turned down NFL’s offer.

Even though both Cyrus and Styles are not as popular as the Blank Space singer, they still have a decent fanbase which NFL can tap in to boost their viewership. Besides, they can hold their own on the big stage and deliver a good show to the Las Vegas audience. It is not official yet and both parties are still at the talking stage.

Apart from Styles and Cyrus, the 3-time Grammy Award winner Bad Bunny and the rapper Jack Harlow are also on the NFL’s shortlist according to multiple reports. The Puerto Rican singer and songwriter Bad Bunny might be the most popular out of the 4 and will certainly be on the top of the league’s list.

According to HITS Daily Double, the 12-time Grammy Award winner Taylor Swift has turned down NFL’s offer to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show for the second time in the last 2 years.

Swift, who is currently busy performing at the sold-out concerts in her Eras tour reportedly declined the offer due to uncertainty. Taylor Swift is set to release her new album 1989 Taylor’s Version in October.

After that, she will further get busy on her concert tours which are currently raking in record-breaking dollars. Swift also rejected the offer back in 2022 citing similar reasons.

Apart from Taylor, the hip-hop artist Lizzo is also out of the equation, as the NFL has reportedly removed her name from the potential Super Bowl performers following the sexual assault and fat shaming allegations.

There’s still a lot of time left for the league to confirm their Super Bowl halftime performers. Still, the NFL is actively trying to rope in one or more big-name artists to give fans a treat in February.
