“He’s prepared for the challenge” Jets OC Mike Lafleur is delighted to see Zach Wilson make his season debut after a knee injury

Zach Wilson walks off the pitch after being injured
Zach Wilson suffered a knee injury in the preseason that put him out on the sidelines but now the QB is as fit as ever and looking to impact the Jets team. Joe Flacco will have to take a backseat as Zach Wilson is cleared to play against the Steelers.
“It’s the happiest I’ve been in a month,” Zach Wilson said. The Jets QB had a full practice session on Wednesday and is excited to make his season debut. OC Mike LaFleur also shared his enthusiasm and was seen pretty excited in the press conference.
“It’s cool, it’s just cool for him,’’ LaFleur said. “Whether it’s Zach or anyone that’s missed time because of injury, you just want to see them on the grass.
“He gets to be out there, he put in a lot of work to put himself in this position to get back. I don’t think anyone really knew after the injury, particularly right when it happened, what was going to happen and how long he was going to be out.”
Zach Wilson has put many hours into the training and there will be a lot of pressure on the young Jets QB to perform. Zach Wilson needs to control his emotions and take the game step by step, rushing into it can cause another injury that can put him on the sidelines again.

Zach Wilson has a lot of potential and was touted to be a starter for the Jets in this season of the NFL. Though, an unfortunate injury stopped him to make his debut before.
OC Mike Lafleur is excited after seeing Zach Wilson’s improvement in practice and is pretty excited to see him in action against the Steelers.
“I think the thing that stuck out to me the most, non-physical, was just how free and, for lack of a better term, how excited he is just to be out there with his teammates,’’ Mike LaFleur said. “I know he’s pumped, and it’s going to take myself, the rest of the offensive unit, everybody. I mean, it’s not just him, we’re all just excited that he gets to go play.’’
There are still some people who think that veteran QB Joe Flacco should start above Zach Wilson but the Jets have made their decision and put their trust in Zach Wilson for the remainder of the season. The game against the Steelers will help decide if Zach Wilson is back or not.
