Ezekiel Elliott was one of the best RBs in the league a few seasons ago. Disappointing performances in consecutive seasons led the Cowboys to release the talented RB and now the 27-year-old finds himself at the crossroads of free agency.
Elliott was drafted by the Cowboys in 2016 and established a great partnership with QB Dak Prescott. The RB has helped the Dallas-based team win many games with the help of his insane rushing skills.
Regardless, Elliott’s form really faltered during the previous season and many started to have doubts over his potential to be the best RB that the Cowboys have ever produced.
Elliott has recorded great numbers for the Cowboys and has rushed for more than 100 yards in a record 32 games. His 100 rushing-yard games were really helpful for the Cowboys who won the majority of their games when the 27-year-old rushed for more than 100 yards.
In total, of 32 games that Elliott has rushed for more than 100 yards, the Cowboys have just lost 5 games and have won 27 remaining games. This indicates that the former Cowboys RB was highly instrumental for the team and maybe releasing him was a mistake.
Ezekiel Elliott’s best-rushing game was against the Bucs in 2016 when the RB rushed for 159 yards while scoring a singular touchdown for the team. The Cowboys later went on to win the game with a score of 26-20.
Ezekiel Elliott will try his luck in free agency
Ezekiel ‘Zeke’ Elliott has the massive credentials that will easily get him into the NFL Pro Football Hall of Fame once he retires and he is just 27 years old. During his career with the Cowboys, Zeke rushed for 8,262 yards while scoring 68 touchdowns. The free agent RB is also a three-time Pro Bowler.
Therefore, it’s safe to assume that Elliott can join any team he desires. Surprisingly, the Buffalo Bills have shared their desire to sign the RB and it can turn out to be a great move for both parties.
The Bills have created a solid team and will easily challenge for the playoffs next season. They also have one of the best QBs in the league in Josh Allen and his partnership with Elliott can turn out to be deadly for the opposition.
Ezekiel Elliott can turn out to be a perfect signing for the Bills and it’s just a matter of time until the 27-year-old signs the dotted line for the Bills and makes his move to Buffalo.
