There’s a lot of controversy surrounding Ayahuasca, a plant-based psychedelic which also contains DMT. People tend to wonder if it’s safe or not. Though the people in Central and South America have used it for hundreds of years for medicinal purposes, there are still some questions regarding them.
Packers QB Rodgers recently revealed that he took Ayahuasca and how it enabled him to feel ‘self-love’ and how it eventually led to the death of his ‘ego’.
“To me, one of the core tenets of your mental health is that self-love,” Rodgers said. “That’s what ayahuasca did for me, was help me see how to unconditionally love myself. It’s only in that unconditional self love, that then I’m able to truly be able to unconditionally love others. And what better way to work on my mental health than to have an experience like that?”
Rodgers believes that to show love to others you should first love yourself. Ayahuasca enabled him to see those elements to himself and start his ‘self-love’ journey.

“People focus on the negatives of Ayahuasca”: Aaron Rodgers

The star QB believes his back to NFL MVP wins wasn’t a coincidence after his experience trying Ayahuasca.”I don’t think it’s a coincidence,” Rodgers said. “I don’t. I don’t believe in coincidences at this point. It’s the universe bringing things to happen when they’re supposed to happen.
Rodgers seemed very emotional speaking about self-love and ‘ego death’ in the podcast and was also trying to hold tears. He dedicated his experience to a better relationship with his teammates and also believes that self-love is the basis of all success in life.
“You can’t do anything in this life until you really, truly unconditionally love yourself,” Rodgers said. “So that’s what I had to do. I had to surrender fully to the idea that everything I was telling myself was true. That’s when it finally broke. I laid there on that mat and I made peace with the possibility that all of these lies I was telling myself could possibly be true. In that reality of the worst self-talk you can possibly imagine, feeling like the lowest human on the planet and not worthy ever in this life of unconditional love…“
Aaron Rodgers (38) will be playing his 17th season with the Packers. The four-time MVP is also expecting to challenge the title for the Super Bowl this year among other teams.
