“I love proving haters wrong”: Kyle Van Noy says he’ll come out all guns blazing as an LA Charger

Kyle Van Noy will always be remembered as a New England Patriot as the linebacker spent his prime and had his best plays on that team. Unfortunately, he is no longer on that team, he is now a Los Angeles Charger.

Van Noy appeared on the Pat McAfee Show on Friday and had this to say, “I’ll always be a Patriot. There’s no denying that. But I’m definitely a Charger and I hope to be putting a Charger symbol right up to the Patriots because I want to be remembered as both.

“I’ll always be a Patriot”: Kyle Van Noy

The Pats released the veteran LB in March, he met up with the LA Chargers earlier on Thursday and signed with the team, though this concludes his wonderful journey filled with multiple Super Bowls, Kyle is now ready to take his experience and leadership skills to another organization that has relatively younger players with immense talent and potential.

“I think it’s going to be a match made in heaven, I’m going to do everything I can to bring that championship pedigree to that team. That’s something that is within me, and I’m a winner, and that’s what I want to bring.

The linebacker started his career in Detroit but unlocked his true potential in New England after he was traded during the 2016 season. He went on to appear in three Super Bowls and win two of them in 2016 and 2018.

His contributions to the team during his stint were notable and the LB signed with the Dolphins in 2020 for four years and a total of $51 million, however, he was there for only a single season before finding his way back to New England in 2021. He was released by the Pats after a year which led to rumors about him being washed up and done.

On this topic, Van Noy had this to say, “Obviously the end is near, but I’ve still got enough juice. I’ve got a juice left. I’m still hungry. I get up and I love proving my family right and I love proving haters wrong, I’ve got a chip on my shoulder, and I’ve got a lot to prove still. Everybody thinks I can’t play outside of New England for some reason. I can’t wait to prove all the people in my life right.”

He joins an LA Chargers team that was inches away from being in the playoffs this year. This has just motivated all the players on the team to do better next season and make a legit Super Bowl run. Van Noy said this drive and motivation of the team members made him want to be in their locker room. It is not surprising to hear this as the Chargers have an overall balanced team, an amazing young talent in Justin Herbert, and a relatively experienced WR in Keenan Allen.

They do whatever it takes to be a championship organization, you can tell that as soon as you walk through the building, you feel this sense of urgency, and everybody’s hungry to win, and that’s how they want it. They want to win, and they’re doing whatever it takes to win.”
