Tony Romo posts an emotional and touching message for Marion Barber III
Marion Barber III was most notably known for his Pro Bowl appearance in 2007 with 975 yards and 10 touchdowns while with the Dallas Cowboys. He earned himself the nickname of “Marion the Barbarian” for his rough style of running. He finished his career at the Chicago Bears with 59 touchdowns and 4,780 rushing yards.
Former teammate of Barber, quarterback Tony Romo has posted an emotional message on Twitter giving his respects after Marion Barber III’s demise. Romo who spent 14 seasons with the Cowboys addressed Barber’s energy in the locker room and how it was a privilege for him to play alongside the latter. He also acknowledged that Marion Barber III would do all the dirty work for the team and still be a bright presence.
“Cowboys fans will never forget his aggressive running style and shear energy he brought every time he was on the field. He could run, block, catch and he do all the dirty work and ask for more. It was a pleasure playing alongside him,” Romo said.
“I loved being around Marion. His demeanor and spirit affected and touched more people than he ever realized. I was definitely one of those people. RIP Marion Barber III.”
