“I’m better than Justin” Ja’Marr Chase believes he’s superior than Justin Jefferson

Competition in sports is healthy and it often helps the players to grow and become better. NFL has always been famous for rivalries between players like Tom Brady vs Terrell Suggs and Odell Beckham vs Josh Norman but it seems like a new rivalry is taking place between two former college teammates Ja’Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson.

Chase recently stated that he is better than Justin Jefferson as reported by NFL on Twitter.

Both are extremely talented youngsters who’ve had great rookie seasons. Ja’Marr is the reigning rookie of the year who had a great first season for the Bengals. He’s still under his rookie contract but has managed to be the number 1 WR for the Bengals.

Justin Jefferson on the other hand started his NFL career with a 1,400-yard rookie season which broke the record for most yards by a rookie wideout in NFL history. Unfortunately, his record was broken in the next season by his LSU teammate Ja’Marr chase who managed to get a 1,455-yard season.

The Vikings WR had an overall better season compared to his LSU teammate. He finishes with 1,616 yards, Jefferson is already ranked No.21 on the all-time single-season receiving yards list, ahead of greats like Michael Irvin, DeAndrea Hopkins and Davante Adams.

Ja’Marr thinks he’s better than Jefferson and the Vikings WR thinks he’s the best WR in NFL as stated by him in an interview with Complex. “I’ll say after this year, I’ll be the best receiver in the NFL… I think I have to do it three years in a row for everybody to believe so. Some people don’t think that after two years, you deserve to be at the top of the league. And then me, I feel like I’m going to surpass 1,600 yards, too. So I think that I’ll become the best receiver after this year.”

Both the WRs are extremely talented with a bright future ahead of them and may even go down as the best WRs of all time. The only thing of concern is that sometimes competition can become toxic and can lead to dirty fights and conflicts. As long as the rivalry is healthy it will be beneficial for both players.
