Brock Purdy has been out of NFL action for quite some time now. The instrumental QB was highly utilized by the San Francisco 49ers and led them to the NFC championship. Sadly, the rookie QB suffered a shoulder injury and was out for the season. Fortunately, there is some good news for all the 49ers fans as NFL insider Ian Rapoport has made a glaring revelation regarding Purdy’s recovery.
It is reported that Purdy has started throwing passes with his QB coach Will Hewlett in Jacksonville. Rapoport’s colleague Tom Pelissero made his way to Jacksonville and confirmed the discovery.
“Brock Purdy should be ready for the start of the season. That is the expectation. That is where he is as he tries to come back from surgery on the UCL,” Ian Rapoport stated on NFL Network. “Tom Pelissero, mentioned today he’s going to train with Will Hewlett, his personal quarterbacks coach, and his ortho specialist, Tom Gormely. Namely, he’s just throwing, which is really good considering that he is still throwing now, still progressing, still on track.”
All things considered, Brock Purdy will be the starter for the 49ers when they face the Pittsburgh Steelers on the opening day of the NFL 2023 season.

Brock Purdy is taking his progress one day at a time
The 49ers drafted Brock Purdy 262nd overall in the 2022 NFL draft. No one expected ‘Mr. Irrelevant’ to completely surprise the whole league and lead the team to the NFC championship.
Now, Purdy is the undisputed starter for the 49ers. However, he is taking his recovery one day at a time and doesn’t want to further aggravate his injury.
“That’s a goal, right?” Brock Purdy said. “You want to be ready for the season, and if that’s the case, great. But like I said, we’re just taking it one day at a time and don’t want to say anything that we regret down the road or whatever.”
With Brock Purdy’s recovery going great, many 49ers fans will be excited to see the young QB back in action after a 7-month long hiatus from football.
