Isaiah Winstead was one of those many who went undrafted into the 2023 NFL draft. The draft has over seven rounds of players to select. Still, there are many whose names never get called out.

Winstead is one of those, the East Carolina Pirates product was highly influential for his team last year. However, he was heartbroken when his name didn’t get called out.

Still, he didn’t lose hope and kept trying to get signed despite the NFL draft ending days ago. There have been instances where teams sign undrafted college football players if they are really impressive.

But the chances of getting signed as an undrafted player are very rare and Winstead is indeed a special player. The East Carolina WR uploaded a reel of all his special plays on Twitter as a last-ditch effort.

“6’4 210 moving like this. No mini camp invite or UDFA deal. Behind the scenes on what I can do. With 88 catches & 1100 yds this past season… God makes no mistakes tho thank you in advanced,” Isaiah Winstead stated in a Tweet.

The tweet included the highlight reel of the WR and it soon went viral. The San Francisco 49ers soon took notice of the situation and quickly signed the WR. Winstead became the last player to be signed by the 49ers as they completed their 90-man roster.

The 49ers gave a huge opportunity to Isaiah Winstead and signed him to the NFL. The young WR was exalted after the news broke and thanked the San Francisco-based team.

“Thank You GOD !! Only opinion that matter! Y’all won’t regret it ! @49ers,” Winstead stated in a Tweet. The 21-year-old got the opportunity due to his never give up attitude and exceptional performance in college football.

Winstead now looks forward to playing in the NFL and believes that he’ll never waste this opportunity. “I feel like I’m fast enough to play at this level,” Winstead told USA Today. “The 49ers, they’re going to get a dog. I’m going to approach practice every day like I’ve been doing. It’s not like I’m there to be somebody I’m not.”

However, the 49ers weren’t the only team that gave Isaiah Winstead a call. It is reported that many teams from the league took notice of his video and tried to contact him. He also generated interest from the XFL, CFL, and USFL.
