The New England Patriots might be the worst team in the NFL this season. They are 2-9 after 11 games and are nowhere near the juggernaut they once used to be. Everything that could go wrong, has gone wrong for the Bill Belichick-led side as the team is almost out of the playoff race this season. Frustrations are boiling over in New England as their safety Jabrill Peppers was heard calling his own team “a**” after their recent loss to the New York Giants.

The Patriots lost to the Giants, 10-7. It was their fourth loss in a row. After the game, the Patriots safety embraced his former teammate, Giants RB Saquon Barkley. While hugging Barkley, Peppers said:

You lucky we a**.

The comment was caught on an NFL Films microphone worn by Barkley. The Patriots’ safety has now apologized to his teammates and coaches for his comment.

Peppers said:

I just want to apologize to my teammates and coaches for even having to answer questions about that,"We have more important things to worry about than me being quoted on a hot mic. At the end of the day, we're 2-9, we have a top-5 pick in the draft that didn't come via trade and we all know the standard. We all know what it's supposed to look like, and it's not that right now. It's not no shot at anybody in the locker room. I said 'we.' We own that. I own that.

Peppers was drafted in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns. After a couple of seasons with the Browns, Peppers joined the Giants in 2019. He suffered an ACL injury in 2021 and joined the Patriots the following year.

Jabrill Peppers feels that the players haven’t executed the game plans well enough this season

The New England Patriots have had a terrible season. According to their safety, Jabrill Peppers, the Patriots haven’t executed the game plans well enough to win games. Although their HC Bill Belichick is under pressure, Peppers called him as “one of the best coaches to ever coach.” He also spoke about the team’s struggles this season.

The 28-year-old defenseman said:

We have great players in the locker room, but every team has great players. There is great parity across the league. If those great players aren't executing, that team isn't a good team. But that doesn't speak to the character of the men we have in this locker room. We all come to work willing and ready to do whatever we can to help this team win. The ball just hasn't been rolling in our favor and that's on no one but us.

The Patriots will play their next game against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. They will hope to win that game and build some kind of momentum going into the final stretch of the season.
