“Absolute BEAT DOWN”: Jacksonville Jaguars SHOCK the NFL by obliterating the Indianapolis Colts

Jacksonville Jaguars had themselves a game to remember tonight

It is week 2 of the NFL’s regular season and we have a bunch of exciting games lined up. The one game that caught the attention of a lot of fans was the Jacksonville Jaguars who played the Indianapolis Colts. The Jaguars were underdogs going into the game as they lost their week 1 matchup to the Washington Commanders who ended up losing to the Detroit Lions today. However, what we saw from Jacksonville today was something none of us could fathom.

The Jacksonville Jaguars absolutely obliterated the Indianapolis Colts 24 to nothing. Call them lucky or call it a bad night for Matt Ryan and Jonathan Taylor who failed to show up. The Jaguars were locked in from the start and Trevor Lawrence just showed us that he is that dude for the Jags, a player who can go out there and perform. This victory is also a positive sign for the organization as a whole that has been through a lot last season following the drama when Urban Meyer was the HC. With Doug Pederson at the helm now, the Jags seem to be headed in the right direction.

“Very proud of this group”: HC Doug Pederson could not hold his happiness back as the Jaguars defeat the Indianapolis Colts.

Matt Ryan
Matt Ryan had a forgettable night

What could go wrong went wrong for the Colts. Matt Ryan had a forgettable game, with zero touchdowns thrown, 195 yards in passing, and completing 16 of 30 passes the quarterback had a rough night. Despite being a veteran, he made rookie mistakes and gave away 3 interceptions. Now were all of them on Ryan or is the Jaguars’ defense that good?

It was a bit of both, Ryan got frustrated at a point and tried to force a couple of passes to get the Colts on the board but that did not end well for him. Andre Cisco, Devin Lloyd, and Rayshawn Jenkins were all over the field as they each got an interception from Ryan. Coming to Jonathan Taylor, he had a bad night, there is no other way to put it.

With just 9 carries and 54 yards rushing and another 9 yards in receiving, Taylor who is considered to be the backbone of this offense and one of the best running backs in the NFL could not get it going tonight. Jacksonville came out all guns blazing in this game and it showed.

Trevor Lawrence had a good night with 235 yards passing and 11 yards rushing. He threw for 2 touchdowns and had 0 interceptions. With 25 of 30 passes completed, he clearly out-dueled Matt Ryan tonight. James Robinson was able to get into the endzone as well and ended the game with 64 rushing yards. Props have to be given to the wide receivers of the Jags as well, Christian Kirk, Evan Engram, and Marvin Jones all played significant roles in this win.

Trevor Lawrence is proving to be a consistent and reliable QB

To add salt to their wounds, the Colts never even set themselves up for a field goal. The Jags on the other hand capitalized on this. Jacksonville had 21 first downs as opposed to 9 that the Colts ended with, Matt Ryan was sacked 5 times, give the man some protection, at this age the last thing he needs is to get sacked at this rate.

The Colts also gave up nearly 30 yards due to penalties, they had 5 in this game, and they lost control as the game went on. Jacksonville possessed the ball for 38 minutes dominating the Colts who had the football in their hands for only 21 minutes. This game ended up placing the Jags at the top of the AFC South, this was also the first time that Matt Ryan has lost to the Jaguars in his career.

There were a lot of things that went wrong for the Colts tonight but hopefully, the team regroups and comes back stronger. The Jacksonville Jaguars on the other hand are going to be partying like they won the Super Bowl, for a team that has been through so much, it does seem justified. There is only one way to end this, Jim Irsay does not own the Indianapolis Colts anymore, the Jacksonville Jaguars do.
