The Jacksonville Jaguars, led by their 1st-year head coach Doug Pederson, just erased a 27-point deficit against the Los Angeles Chargers to complete the 3rd largest comeback in the NFL postseason history. Jaguars went to the locker room down 27-7 at halftime and came back brand new on both sides of the ball.
It’s a tale of two halves as the Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence had completely two different games. In the first half, Lawrence threw for 77 yards and 1 touchdown while throwing 4 interceptions with a 24.5 passer rating. Everybody thought the ‘college wonderboy’ folded, as he couldn’t handle the bright lights of the NFL playoffs. However, the second-year QB showed up big in the second half as he 211 yards and 3 touchdowns with a 144.5 passer rating, a complete turnaround from first half.
Furthermore, his Clemson teammate Travis Etienne proved to everyone that he was worthy of a first-round pick as the running back carried the rock 20 times for 109 yards while averaging 5.5 yards per carry. Also, Lawrence spread the ball all over the field and, as a result, three players from the Jaguars had 70-plus receiving yards. The defense did its job in the second as they managed to contain the electrifying Charges offense to just three points in the second. They didn’t create any turnovers, but they managed to get the ball back to their offense by forcing 3 and outs.

Fans on Twitter went gaga over the Jaguars’ incredible comeback against Justin Herbert and the Chargers. Since the Jaguars managed to erase a 27-point deficit against a tough Chargers defense.
When Jaguars managed to cut the lead by four points, Chargers DE Joey Bosa slammed his helmet on the field out of frustration with a no-call on Jaguars’ left tackle for a false start. The act warranted an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, which helped the Jags to try a two-point attempt instead of a PAT.
The penalty proved to be costly as the Jaguars cut the lead by 2 points and just needed a field goal to win the game during their last possession. If it wasn’t for the penalty, the Jaguars would’ve been only able to tie the game with the field goal and the game could’ve gone to overtime. Instead, the Jags managed to run the clock out and kick the field goal to seal the game.
The comeback had everyone stunned, including the Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes. “Just crazy Man,” tweeted the MVP frontrunner while relaxing at home after securing the AFC No.1 seed and thus gaining a first off playoffs bye week.
The Jaguars started the season 3-7 but somehow managed to conquer the AFC South after winning 6 out of their last 7 games. And now, they could face the Chiefs, the Bills, or the Bengals in the Divisional round.
