The Cincinnati Bengals vs Seattle Seahawks game last Sunday remained quite intense. The excellent defensive performance from the Bengals helped them win 17-13. The Bengals have bounced back pretty well after the Week 4 loss against the Titans. Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase, and company are now 3-3 and will hope to continue their winning streak.
Though the Bengals couldn’t play their most complete game last Sunday, when the opponent was struggling, the team picked up really well. The Bengals’ offense was going well, but they had a difficult moment in the second half. At the start of the third quarter, when Joe Burrow attempted an underthrown pass to wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase, it resulted in the game’s first turnover. The ball fell in the hands of the opponent, as Chase made an incomplete diving attempt and fell on the ground.
Though it wasn’t very clear, based on Chase’s reaction, he was hurt. He said, “I couldn’t breathe bro…I’m come back to the huddle..that’s hurting boy. But I couldn’t breathe bro!”
Moving forward, the Bengals’ defense got back the ball as the Seahawks began to dominate. Cornerback Mike Hilton intercepted Geno Smith’s pass at the 3-yard line. Bengals’ McPherson held the Seahawks to a field goal, making them go for the endzone on the last two possessions with just seven minutes remaining in the game. During this, Seattle got an opportunity after the fourth-down sack of the Bengals, but it didn’t work out.
Ja’Marr Chase’s quote turned into a 7-Eleven deal
Bengals’ wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase is surely playing up his “always open” narrative as the season progresses. He gave this narrative after last week’s loss to the Titans, saying, “I’m always f**king open.” He compared himself to the 7-11 convenience store that stays open 24 hours a day.
Shortly after that, Chase was offered a quick partnership with the 7-Eleven. “Shout out 7-Eleven. They just sent me that with all the hats and always open stuff. So it was nice,” he said. During the game against the Seahawks, he was even seen wearing a 7-Eleven chain.
The company smartly capitalized on a partnership with one of the best NFL players. Although Chase said the 7-Eleven reference is a joke, he has become 7-11, and a commercial may also be in the process. As the bye week wraps up, Chase and the Bengals’ offense aims to emerge more strongly throughout the complete game against San Francisco. The team struggled mightily after the first two drives against the Seattle contest.
