Jason McCourty recently got the amazing opportunity to announce a pick in the 2023 NFL draft. The former cornerback was invited on the second day to call out the pick 81 from round 3.

The pick was allotted to the Tennessee Titans. McCourty has always been loyal to the Titans since he was drafted by them. Therefore, he went a little overboard during his speech when announcing a draft pick.

McCourty when on the stage and turned the speech into a roast of the Kansas City Chiefs and their fans. For that, he was mercilessly booed and called out by the people.

“I have some fond memories here,” Jason McCourty told the crowd before announcing the Titans’ third-round pick. “I remember being at Arrowhead Stadium in 2018 when [the Patriots] won the AFC Title, and we went to the Super Bowl, and Patrick Mahomes is one trophy short.”

The former New England Patriots CB took brutal shots at the Chiefs. His speech or rant went for so long that even the draft selection music had to be played twice before he announced his pick. The crowd was furious with McCourty except the minority Titans fans who were eagerly waiting to find out about the new pick.

Many were enraged with the 2-minute long speech by McCourty which he used to roast the Chiefs and various other teams in the NFL. There were also many who called out the guest announcers in general for time-wasting and searching for relevancy.

Jason McCourty believes the Titans will win the division

The Tennessee Titans have been an average team in the NFL for quite some time now. Still, Jason McCourty believes that this year they will change and will dominate the division. They have a fairly easy division with teams like the Jacksonville Jaguars, Indianapolis Colts, and the Houston Texans.

Regardless, dominating the division is a long shot and many Titans fans believe that. The Tennessee-based team drafted controversial QB Will Levis in the second round among other players. McCourty believes this will give them a fair shot at the division title.

“But now it’s all about the Tennessee Titans. We are the real team where the Houston Oilers started. Tennessee, the home of the best barbeque in the nation,” McCourty screamed as the fans erupted. “I’m sorry I don’t mean to offend anybody, but for the Titans, the division is ours.”

Jason McCourty‘s lengthy speech has varied reactions. However, he went off stage with a majority of boos by the people of Kansas City and some cheers from the Titans fans present during the draft.
