On Sunday, the New York Giants defeated their NFC East division rivals Washington Commanders in their week 7 game. The Giants had to play with their second-string quarterback Tyrod Taylor since their franchise QB Daniel Jones was ruled out with an injury.
Surprisingly, Taylor had a great game against the Commanders. After the game, NFL analyst Jason McIntyre referred to Taylor as a young quarterback, prompting the fans to troll him on social media.
During a recent episode of the Fox Sports show The Herd with Colin Cowherd, the show’s co-host Jason McIntyre got a little excited while talking about the Giants’ victory against the Washington-based football team. He referred to Tyrod Taylor as a young QB despite the fact that Taylor has been playing in the league for 13 years.
Tyrod Taylor! what a performance from the young quarterback. . . Maybe there's a controversy at quarterback in New York.McIntyre on the recent episode of ‘The Herd’
An X user named BackAftaThis posted that clipping on his profile, which went viral and accumulated more than two million views within days. Taylor was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the 6th round of the 2011 NFL Draft. Since then, he has spent 13 years in the league with 6 different teams, including Los Angeles Chargers and the Cleveland Browns.
He has been a journeyman in the league for more than a decade. Now, he is with the Giants as their second-string QB. The veteran quarterback signed a two-year deal with the Giants back in the 2022 off-season.
Social media blasted Jason McIntyre for referring to Tyrod Taylor as a young QB
Fans on social media blasted ‘The Herd’ co-host Jason McIntyre for referring to the Giants QB Tyrod Taylor as a young QB, even though he has been playing in the league for 13 years. McIntyre is among one of the analysts who is constantly getting cooked on social media for his poor takes. Check out some of the reactions attached below.
On the sporting side of things, Taylor led the Giants to an impressive victory against the Commanders on Sunday. He reportedly became the first Black quarterback to lead the Giants to a victory in the franchise’s history.
Furthermore, the Giants’ 1st stringer Daniel Jones — who missed the last two games with a neck injury — remains doubtful for New York’s week 8 game against the New York Jets, which is scheduled to take place on Sunday.
