Check out what Jay Gruden said about Dan Snyder after the firing of their offensive coordinator.

“It’ll be hard,” Former HC Jay Gruden takes a VICIOUS dig at Commanders owner Dan Snyder amidst search for a new OC

The Washington Commanders are looking for a new offensive coordinator for the upcoming season. This was because owner Dan Snyder fired OC Scott Turner after their season came to an end despite a 26-6 victory over the Dallas Cowboys.

The Commanders lost out dearly on a playoff spot but the chinks in their armoury had been showing for a long time. Dan Snyder’s decision to rope in Carson Wentz as their starting quarterback did not go to plan.

Head coach Ron Rivera opted for numerous changes in the quarterback position prompted by Wentz’s disappointing performances. And now they will have to bring in a play caller which former Commanders head coach Jay Gruden doesn’t think would be an easy task.

Gruden who served as the head coach for the Commanders under Dan Snyder‘s ownership from 2014 to 2019 believes they might have to give the job to an insider. He was of the opinion that an outsider will not want to bow down and be told what to do, as has been Snyder’s style of ownership through the years.

Jay Gruden poked fun at Dan Snyder as the Commanders continue to struggle

While making an appearance on “The Grant & Danny Show” on 106.7 The Fan, Jay Gruden said, “It’ll be hard, unless they do it in house. I don’t know who they have in house who would take it. Maybe [Ken] Zampese will take it, I don’t know,” Gruden said. “You’re right, it is difficult, especially if you’re told what to do.”

It also needs to be noted that Jay Gruden isn’t the biggest fan of Dan Snyder and has called out the Commanders owner many times in the past. He continued to follow that path, when he was asked whether he would apply for the position of the offensive coordinator himself.

Gruden cheekily replied, “Oh, yeah, I’d love to coach again. Who’s the owner?”

Dan Snyder too has admitted that he has been trying to relinquish some of his involvement from the sporting decisions made by the head coaches and the backroom staff. This will indeed be a big factor in deciding who applies for the vacant position and calls the shots with head coach Rivera, as the Commanders continue to hunt for glory.
